there's been a lack of a technological focus on evening drama, and so I came up with one!

I was reading In-Tech (this IT supplement from The Star) the other day, and I came across a anti-microsoft law suit which I just thought was ridiculous!

Apparently, Microsoft was being sued by another company for the inclusion of Windows Media Player with their Windows XP OS. By this, Microsoft had supposedly monopolized the media player market..

Did anyone see the problem here? What's stopping people from using other media players if they aren't satisfied with WMP?

Microsoft didn't have a problem when everyone else started using Firefox instead of IE.
IE was free, and came with Windows!

Which got me thinking- WMP is free- last time i checked, didn't people like free stuff?? and if WMP actually cost something, and people had to pay extra for it, then forcing people to pay for it would be wrong, but Microsoft is doing no such thing- they're just saving you the hassle of downloading a media player!

If people actually disliked WMP on their PCs they could just find another one!

And as far as I know, Media player has been coming free with Windows OS ever since Windows 95! but for the company to sue Microsoft over putting it in Windows XP is just stupid, why didn't they bring it up earlier?

I think these companies should spend more time developing software which customers want and will use, instead of trying to strike gold suing a big ass company over stupid reasons!
